I spent today catching up on articles, clippings, and videos that I’ve been meaning to read in my Evernote inbox. One was an article in last month’s Chance on analysis from data of the eyeballing game. First I had to the play the game. After one attempt, I was slightly better than average.
Click here to play the game. It’s fun!
The authors of the article in Chance make the conclusion: “Completing a parallelogram based on two given line segments is among the hardest tasks for everybody—yet another strike against three-dimensional graphics.” This was gripe I had with Forks Over Knives. All the graphical displays of data in the movie were 3-D, which makes for more WOW factor than critical understanding. You can get the major themes of the movie here and here. The delivery isn’t nearly as WOW, but the content is!
